Our Story
We started because a child said, "I hate my uniform."
Every fall, the same routine. The same stiff polo. The same shapeless pants. The same uninspired jumper. And every year, the same words from the back seat — "I don't want to wear this. It's boring."
As the founder of Chapter One — and a parent — that moment hit differently. Not just as a mom, but as someone who has spent years inside the apparel industry as a technical designer, working with manufacturers, building garments from the ground up, understanding exactly what makes clothing feel right and last long.
I knew the problem wasn't the kids. The problem was the product.
School uniforms had been ignored for too long. Designed by committees. Mass-produced without care. Sold without any connection to the children actually wearing them.
So we built something different.
Chapter One is built on three beliefs:
- Uniforms should excite kids, not bore them We design with kids in mind — modern, California-inspired, built for play and built to last.
- Parents deserve a brand that listens Every question, every concern, every idea you share goes directly to us. We are close to you — and we intend to stay that way.
- Kids should be part of the brand Every quarter, we run a design competition where kids create our packaging. Because this brand belongs to them as much as it belongs to us.
We are proudly California-born. We started here because California families deserved a local brand that understands their schools, their kids, and their needs — not a distant corporation shipping generic boxes across the country.
Chapter One is just the beginning. And we want your family to be part of it.
Have a question, an idea, or feedback? We genuinely want to hear from you. Every message reaches the founder directly.
